Managing Noise
Noise is an important issue in the workplace and the recently introduced Noise Regulations 2005 and the associated lowering of the exposure limits has meant that many more workpalces now need to actively manage their nosie risks. Presented as an off-site (public) course at the HSMC training centre, Managing Noise is aimed at anyone with a responsibility for controlling noise in their workplace, including production managers, safety reps, health and safety officers, team leaders or supervisors, or anyone else whom the employer is looking at to oversee the noise safety and control issues.

| Managing Noise: course summary |
| Training Aims: |
The course gives attendees a basic understanding of noise, its behaviours, its effects on hearing and the risks associated with it, the regulations relating to noise, the types of controls available, what to look for in noise surveys, audiometry and what it means for people managing noise risks. Attendees will leave with the requisite to oversee and manage noise risks in their workplace. |

- how measurments should be approached and if you are using an external service to provide noise assessments for you this section will enable you to manage this from a position of knowledge. |

Selection, available types and uses of each. |
The course includes practical elements throughout including demonstrations of noise measurement, real-time simulation of hearing damage and audiometric testing of volunteers to demonstrate the process.
