Manual Handling for Trainers
Manual handling is a common risk throughout business and a common need is for manual handling training to take place for employees who are required to lift, carry, twist or carry out other handling activities. A beneficial route for this can be to train in-house personnel to become manual handling trainers who can then go on to deliver short manual handling courses for their colleagues.

| Introduction |
What manual handling is, the types of risk present and the scale of the problem |
| Manual handling training |
A presentation of the type of manual handling course the attendees will be going on to deliver themselves. Includes identification and assessment of handling
risks, control measures and safe lifting techniques. |
| Trainer training |
A session on development of training skills including presentation techniques. Attendees undertake a practical exercise and deliver a short presentation. |
| Manual handling courses |
A slower run-through of the type of course they are to deliver, looking at each subject area in depth and considering the off-shoots where attendees may ask for more information from the trainers and the type of response which should be given. |
| Assessment |
A final assessment to determine attendee comprehension and knowledge. |
