Examples of recent HSMC Safety Rep training courses:

-----------------------------------

Rep Training: Case study 1

A client has a number of safety reps who although keen have little health and safety training. A programme was developed where they received short sessions over a number of months, focused on a couple of areas at a time giving them chance to apply it between courses. Each course then reviewed the work from the previous one.

-----------------------------------

Rep Training: Case study 2

A client wanted safety reps to be heavily involved in accident investigation, risk assessments and routine inspections so a course was developed focused on these areas, using the clients risk assessment system to ensure maximum relevance.

-----------------------------------

Rep Training: Case study 3

A client was appointing new safety reps who had never held this kind of role before. A gentle series of shorter courses was developed introducing the basic principles and then leading gently into risk assessments and routine inspection, covering specific risks present on the premises.

HSMC Safety Rep Training

Safety Rep Training

Health and Safety Representatives (Safety Reps.) are an important part of any workplace, providing 'eyes on the ground' and an ideal system for the routine management of health and safety. As ever, to get the best out of any job training is crucial in giving the Safety Rep the knowledge and confidence to do the job. HSMC's Safety Rep training will give the attendees a basic knowledge of the main health and safety requirements, how companies and individuals can best meet them, explain the benefits of their role and how they can best fulfill it and help both the employer and the Reps get the most out of the job.

The training course below is an outline only. It is critical in this arena that in addition to the general information the Reps. are trained in their employer's own procedures and systems and where present we will happily include them. We can also build modules to suit your business or combine whole or individual parts different modules into specific courses to ensure maximum relevance and return on your training investment. (As an example, in a recent course for a food production factory we developed a module covering food hygiene, food safety and haccp systems and merged it with the general health and safety risk assessment section as this was the crucial element for those individual attendees).
